Mais ce n'est que dans la seconde moiti du vingtime sicle que s'est dvelopp un vritable genre qui a connu une fortune particulire aux tatsUnis comme en Europe : celui du Voyage de photographe.Des photographes itinrants partent en vue de raliser un livre et cet objectif conditionne leur pratique de la prise de vue ainsi que leur exercice du voyage. Leurs ouvrages (conus comme des ensembles) renvoient leur vcu vagabond, mme si la fiction n'en est jamais compltement absente; ils thmatisent le dplacement et laissent affleurer la subjectivit de leurs auteurs. Il est ds lors loisible de parler de Voyages de photographes (comme on parle de Voyages d'crivains) afin de dsigner les livres, faits de photographies et ventuellement de mots, qui relatent l'exprience du dplacement. C'est la caractrisation de ce genre que Danile Maux s'est attele.
