The objective of this study was to improve our understanding of vulnerability and risk assessment; it's causes basically show the intensity, its distribution and humanenvironment effect on the ecosystem in the ApodiMossoro estuary, Northeast Brazil. Vulnerability and risk assessment provides a means of adding value due to ecosystem hazards and land use change scenarios in terms of in between producer, taxpayers, service provider and users (Socioeconomic data). This is the type of information for example that can be of interest to policy makers and society at large, and can help influence future development pathways. Scenarios are useful for exploring uncertainties in vulnerability and risk assessment and an indicator for where we can be more, or less, uncertain about the future. Furthermore, it helps in indicating how society and policy can have an important role to play in future development pathways. Based on this assessment, this research proposes concrete perspectives and possibilities to bene?t from existing commonalities in the construction and application of assessment tools.
