WALC 1 has proven to be an excellent therapy supplement for adolescent and adult clients who have difficulties with auditory and visual comprehension and/or oral and written expression, such as clients who exhibit aphasia due to stroke or head injury. You?ll get plenty of exercises and activities organized in a hierarchical order to ensure mastery of strategies and skills. The content and format of WALC 1 is a proven winner for effective rehabilitation. Like all WALCs, this book teaches the strategies behind the skills. Page after page of exercises for each target area provide sufficient exposure for acquisition of the strategy. The hierarchical organization of the items reflects an increase in difficulty within a task and from task to task, as the client builds upon the strategies or processes he is relearning how to use.

I bought this WALC 1 workbook for my dad who's recovering from a stroke. The activities are engaging and have really helped him with his language skills. The layout is clear, and it's easy to follow, which is a plus!

Disappointed with the content
I expected more from the WALC 1 workbook. Some activities seem repetitive, and my partner lost interest quickly. I was hoping for more variety in exercises for language practice. Would not buy again.

Packaging could've been better
While I find the WALC 1 activities helpful for my brother, I was disappointed with the packaging. It arrived a bit damaged, but luckily the workbook itself was fine. Just wish they put more care into packaging.

A bit too advanced for my needs
The WALC 1 workbook has some interesting activities, but I found a few of them were a bit complex for my mom. She's struggling with aphasia, and I was hoping for simpler exercises. Still, it’s a decent book overall.
