Celebrated AustrianJewish scholar Walter Ullmann (19101983) was a leading authority in the field of medieval political thought, and in particular legal theory. He settled in the United Kingdom after leaving Austria in the late 1930s and went on to hold positions at the University of Leeds and Trinity College, Cambridge as Professor of Medieval History.
