Der nichtkommerzielle vergleichende Warentest hat sich in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland inzwischen zum vielleicht wichtigsten Instrument der Verbraucherpolitik entwickelt. Sein erheblicher Einflu auf das Verhalten der Wirtschaftssubjekte wurde bisher jedoch berwiegend durch solche Untersuchungen empirisch belegt, die sich auf den Bereich des Konsumentenverhaltens beziehen. Empirische Studien zu Warentestwirkungen in Industrie und Handel sind demgegenber weitaus seltener anzutreffen, obwohl gerade dieser Perspektive des Warentests eine auerordentliche Bedeutung nicht nur in betriebswirtschaftlicher Hinsicht zukommt. Vor diesem Hintergrund besteht das Ziel der vorliegenden Untersuchung darin, den Einflu des Warentests auf das Marketing von Industrieunternehmen empirisch zu untersuchen. Aufgrund der damit verbundenen, nicht unerheblichen methodelogi schen und theoretischen Probleme erarbeitet der Verfasser zunchst eine For schungskonzeption, nach deren Magabe die empirische Untersuchung gesteuert werden soll. Wesentliche Bausteine der Forschungskonzeption sind zum einen methodelogische und theoretische Leitideen, die dem Kritischen Rationalismus und der verhaltens theoretischen Betriebswirtschaftslehre entstammen, sowie zum andern Theorien und Theorienanstze aus den Bereichen der Organisationsund der Wettbewerbs theorie, die nach wissenschaftstheoretischen Kriterien verglichen, bewertet und fr die empirische Untersuchung ausgewhlt werden.
