Auch fr Sdhessen sind solche Chroniken bekannt, zB. die Chronik des GroBieberauer Pfarrers Mink. Auch im Kloster Seligenstadt hat der Prior und sptere Abt Leonhard Walz (+1666) einen Erlebnisbericht in lateinischer Sprache ber die Kriegszeit verfasst, der fr die Jahre 1631 bis 1646 noch erhalten ist. Walz schildert aus der Sicht seines Klosters die Ereignisse vom Siegeszug Gustav Adolfs, in dessen Verlauf auch Stadt und Kloster Seligenstadt besetzt und teilweise ausgeplndert wurden, bis zum Jahr 1646, als die Franzosen die nahe Festung Steinheim belagerten. Auch die Bedrngnisse, in die das Kloster von Seiten der schwedischen Festung Hanau immer wieder geriet, werden ausfhrlich abgehandelt. So zeugt die Chronik des Leonhard Walz vom berlebenskampf des Klosters in einer religis und politisch aufgewhlten Zeit.
