Den theoretischen Hintergrund zu meiner Untersuchung bildet das Konzept der Dialogizitt bzw. Polyphonie von Michail Michailowitsch Bachtin (18951975). Um weitere Teile von Komik innerhalb der Erzhlung erfassen zu knnen, werde ich auerdem die Theorie Bachtins von der Karnevalisierung der Literatur hinzuziehen. In einem ersten, theoretischen Teil dieser Arbeit werde ich die Theorien Bachtins, soweit sie fr den Untersuchungsbereich dieser Arbeit relevant sind, zusammenfassen und in einem zweiten Teil auf die Erzhlung 'Das Buch Ewald' anwenden. Der theoretische Teil versteht sich lediglich als Darstellung der Theorien Bachtins. Kritik an einzelnen Punkten oder eine Wertung dieser Theorien sind daher nicht Bestandteil der vorliegenden Arbeit. In einem dritten, abschlieenden Teil werde ich kurz die schriftstellerischen Motivationen und Intentionen des Autors Robert Gernhardt ausfhren. Dies ist fr diese Arbeit unter anderem deshalb interessant, weil Gernhardt selbst die Frage aufwirft, ob es berhaupt angebracht sei, auf seine Texte wissenschaftliche (Literatur)Theorien anzuwenden, womit er letztlich ja auch den Sinn der vorliegenden Arbeit anzweifelt.
