Dies schliet ein Verstndnis der verschiedenen Aspekte der Bildkommunikation sowie der unterschiedlichen Bildformen und Bildtypen ein. Im Einzelnen wird auf den begrifflichen Hintergrund der Bildkommunikation, ihre psychologischen Voraussetzungen und technischen Realisierungsbedingungen sowie auf spezifische Bildstrukturen eingegangen. Desweiteren zeigen die Autoren, dass unterschiedliche Bildtypen bzw. Bildmedien, wie z.B. Diagramm oder Gemlde bzw. Fotografie oder Computergrafik, jeweils spezifische Kompetenzen erfordern. Die Beitrge gehen ber den Anwendungsbezug bildhafter Reprsentationen hinaus. Die Autoren verbinden ihre Analyse der Bildkompetenz mit der Frage nach dem gegenwrtigen Status einer wissenschaftlich fundierten Bildtheorie und diskutieren, in welchem Sinn von Wissenschaft es eine Bildwissenschaft geben kann und sollte. About the Author Dr. Klaus SachsHombach ist im Rahmen der Interdisziplinren Forschungsstelle fr Computervisualistik an der Universitt Magdeburg ttig. Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte sind Zeichen und Bildtheorien sowie philosophische Probleme der Kognitionswissenschaft.
