The book reports how the livelihoods of people particularly in rural area of Nepal depends on natural resources. The study shows the contribution of watershed management; which is management of complex elements(Water, Land, Forest, and People itself) to sustain their livelihoods. The farming system heavily depends on natural resources. Increase in population and its dependency on land resources has resulted on the degradation of watersheds. Government of Nepal has been implementing various watershed management programs to address the issues. Poverty reduction is worthless without considering the sustainable management of land resources, as the majority of the people depend on these resources. Peoples' participation is must for sustainable watershed management. Author has explored different aspects of watershed management and tried to find out the contribution of watershed management program to the livelihoods of local people considering sustainable livelihood framework by identifying the criteria and indicators of watershed management activities. The work is quite beneficial to researchers, students, practitioners and policy makers involved in NRM.
