Product Description The malaise of our early twenties affects us all in different ways, but Andy Welch, bored of the office trample, came up with a way of breaking out and hitting a trail of adventure. Ever thought that life had more to offer? I certainly did. I wanted a real education and pedalling by bike in an Easterly direction seemed the best way to get one. I couldn't have prepared for the experience Raw life on the road, opened up to people, places and experiences. I left the screens and familiarity behind and pedalled. Frequently invited in by friendly strangers I wild camped and had plenty of time to think about the meaning of life. Hitting cycle friendly western Europe, the French Alpes, the the wild urban dust of Bucharest and the mountains of Armenia, I traced the mountainous and brooding Black Sea Coastline only to find myself falling in love with the vibrant energy and mystique of a small country in the Caucasus. 'Weave of the Ride' is a tale of friendship, love, and selfdiscovery by bicycle, set against the backdrop of a world of hospitality, freak weather, stray dogs and a tapestry of geography, rich culture and hospitality. About the Author Andy Welch studied a BSC in Environment, Economics and Ecology at York University and MA Design Critical Practice at Goldsmiths. After working as a mountain bike guide and a designer, he cycled from England to Nepal between 2007 and 2009, lived in the Republic of Georgia, and cycled across Mongolia in 2010. He lives in London, studies design, writes, works, and plans new adventures.
