Dazu erfolgen sowohl eine weitergehende Analyse der Eigenschaften der verfgbaren Schtzverfahren als auch empirische Analysen, die weit ber die bisher geleisteten Untersuchungen hinausgehen. Die Problematik der statistischen Absicherung von Long Memory bei Vorliegen kurzer Zeitreihen steht im Zentrum des statistischen Teils. Hierzu werden neue Ergebnisse zur Modellselektion und zur Parameterverzerrung bei kleinen Stichproben herausgearbeitet. Den statistischen Untersuchungen geht dabei eine detaillierte Einfhrung in die Theorie der Long MemoryProzesse voraus. Auerdem bietet dieses Buch eine Einordnung der hier verwendeten Modellanstze in die neuere Wechselkursliteratur. Dabei wird auch formal untersucht, unter welchen Bedingungen sich eine bertragung von Long Memory auf den Devisenmarkt aus anderen Mrkten ergeben kann bzw. unter welchen Bedingungen Long Memory Ausdruck von Marktineffizienz darstellt.
