Das verbreitete Bild der 'selbstndigen ungebundenen Karrierefrau' ist hingegen mit Frauen ihrer Altersgruppe kaum assoziiert. In der Forschung fuhren sie, wenn, dann ein 'Kontrollgruppendasein', genutzt als Vergleich zur 'Normalpopulation' verheirateter Mtter im Alter. Anscheinend mssen wir sie ber Defizitcharakteristika gegen die he schende Normalitt abgrenzen: Sie haben keinen Partner (und nie oder lange keinen gehabt). Sie leben nicht mit anderen im Haushalt zusammen. Sie haben keine Kinder. Sie sind nicht jung. Und Mnner sind sie auch nicht. Sind Frauen einer Alterskohorte ber 60, deren Leben und Lebenslauf zen tral vom Zweiten Weltkrieg, der Vor und Nachkriegszeit geprgt wurde, eine Avantgarde eines 'anderen' Lebensstils und einer 'anderen' sozialen Lebensform? Eine Diskussion det Moderne, die in Piuralisierungen von Lebensstilen und Lebensformen und Individualisierungen von Lebenslufen und Lebensgestaltungen schwelgt, die die wachsende Selbstgestaltung von Frauenleben gerade bei Berufsttigen hervorhebt und die insbesondere auch die vielfaltigen Variationen des jungen SingleDaseins entfaltet, blendet eine Gruppe weitgehend aus, die ihr Leben, gewollt oder ungewollt, ohne Ehe partner und ohne Kinder gelebt hat und lebt.
