Whrend mnnlichen Jugendlichen vor allem vermittelt wird, was sie tun mssen, um cool' zu sein, zielen die Informationen in Jugendzeitschriften fr Mdchen eher darauf ab, ein perfektes Aussehen und das Begehrtwerden ber alles zu stellen. Leider wird dabei hufig ein Bild vermittelt, dass an der Realitt vorbei geht und mehr dazu beitrgt, dass ngste vor Versagen und Isolation geschrt werden, statt sie aufzulsen. Da junge Mdchen gerade in der Zeit der Pubertt und Adoleszenz sehr empfnglich sind fr uere Einflsse und Meinungen, ist es wichtig, sie auf ihrer Suche nach dem, was sie wirklich ausmacht, zu bestrken, anstatt sie davon abzubringen. Dafr braucht es starke Mtter und Vter, die der erwachenden Weiblichkeit ihrer Tchter wohlwollend begegnen und sie in ihrer Entwicklung begleiten, aber nicht leiten. Die Probleme, die im Laufe der weiblichen Entwicklung entstehen knnen, sind das zentrale Thema dieser Arbeit.
