In What Were They Like to Fly? we are proud to present twentyfour of Gene Smith's classic pilot's reports. There is a dream flight here for everyone. A selfconfessed type hog, Gene Smith has flown everything from biplanes to the latest jet fighters more than 170 types in all. Smith holds CFII, multiengine, commercial and seaplane ratings. His pilot reports have been highlights of Air Progress and Air Classics magazines for more than twenty years.
