Product Description This book is based on personal experiences that families face and the guilt they feel when dealing with the Long Term Care process. Included are answers to frequently asked questions and a guide for effective communication with the facility staff. From the Back Cover This unique book serves as a roadmap for those embarking on a journey through the foreign terrain of long term care. It answers the questions so frequently asked of us throughout many years. "How do I know when it's time to consider a nursing home for my loved one?" "How can I be sure they're receiving good care?" "How do I handle guilt?" "Who do I talk to when I have a serious problem?" "Why aren't there any books out there that can answer my questions?" The coauthors have worked in long term care for a combined total of 43 years, not only as nurses, but also in many other capacities. They have also both experienced the emotional upheaval of the admission of a loved one in a nursing home, and they cared enough to write a book that everyone needs but concerns a topic that is as socially unacceptable to talk about as religion or politics. About the Author When It's Time was written by two nurses who have spent most of their lives working in nursing homes. Having dealt with families grieving over the loss of a loved one through senility and/or death, they found that many questions asked by family members were not being adequately answered. The book was written to assist family members in adjusting to a foreign environment and routines.
