Um dieser Fragestellung nachgehen zu knnen, soll zunchst der Begriff der Intermedialitt umrissen werden. Die Intermedialitt nimmt im Hinblick auf die Literaturanalyse eine hervorragende Stellung ein, da die kulturelle Praxis der Literatur multimedial operiert und demzufolge intermediale Bezge mitreflektiert werden mssen (vgl. PAECH 1998, S. 16). Die Auffassung von Intermedialitt ist von der des Mediums abhngig, daher soll vorerst der Begriff des Mediums erlutert werden. Daraufhin wird der Begriff der Intermedialitt aus literatur sowie aus medienwissenschaftlicher Perspektive beleuchtet. Die literaturwissenschaftliche Perspektive ist notwendig, da sich die Intermedialitt aus der Intertextualitt entwickelt hat und der Gegenstand der Hausarbeit der Roman Berlin Alexanderplatz. Die Geschichte vom Franz Biberkopf', also die Literatur, ist. Durch die medienwissenschaftliche Perspektive soll ein weiteres Verstndnis von Intermedialitt erffnet werden, da die Intermedialitt vor allem ein Thema der Medienwissenschaft ist. Ferner ist die Medienforschung auch in der Literaturwissenschaft von besonderer Bedeutung, da nur so mediale Besonderheiten vor einem nichtmedienbezogenen Hintergrund sichtbar gemacht werden knnen (vgl. HICKETHIER 1988, S. 66). Im darauffolgenden Kapitel wird die Verarbeitung der stdtischen Thematik in Dblins Berlin Alexanderplatz' untersucht. Im Mittelpunkt dieses Kapitels steht vor allem die von Dblin verwendete Montagetechnik. Sein Roman wird aufgrund der montageartigen Darstellung auch als Montageroman" (KELLER 1980) bezeichnet.
