Honestly, I thought this book would be more engaging. The themes are intriguing, but Simms' prose can be tough to get through. I wanted more action related to the frontier life, but it’s more focused on societal aspects. Disappointed after all the hype.

Interesting but Slow at Times
I found this book to be filled with rich details about American history, but it sometimes dragged on a bit. Simms' style is very descriptive, which I appreciate, but I had to push through some chapters. Would recommend to hardcore history buffs!
