Since the foundation of the country, women are not welcomed enthusiastically in political and electoral processes in Bangladesh. Womens equal participation in decisionmaking and their access to political power are critical issues that have long been ignored and have still not received enough attention despite special provisions to increase womens political participation. The paper aimed to look at the womens participation in parliament of Bangladesh centering the situational analysis of womens participation in the parliament with highlighting the factors affecting on womens involvement in politics in the grassroots to national level. The research looked at the challenges of womens participation in Bangladesh and makes some recommendations to overcome of this situation as well.
