The content is solid and the 7th edition provides a lot of information about English language development. However, my copy arrived with a damaged cover, which was disappointing. I expected better packaging. Still, it’s a useful workbook for anyone interested in linguistics.

Perfect for my linguistics course!
I really loved using this workbook for my linguistics class. The insights into how the English language has evolved were super interesting and well-presented. It’s definitely a must-have if you're studying language development. Just be aware that some pages were marked up but it added to the character for me!

Not worth it in used condition
I really didn’t like the condition of this workbook when it arrived. The pages had writing all over them and it just felt like it had been through too much. The content is interesting, but I wish I had gotten a new copy instead. Wouldn't recommend if you want a clean workbook.

Great resource for English buffs!
I picked up the 7th edition of this workbook mainly for my English lit class and it's been super helpful. The background info on the origins and development of the language is fascinating and really adds depth to the coursework. Only downside was the used condition; a few pages had notes on them, but it didn't bother me much!

Interesting but a bit worn out
This workbook has some great content about the English language's history, but the used condition was not as described. There were some stains on the pages and the cover was a bit frayed. Still got some good insights from it, so I’d say it’s worth the price if you don’t mind the wear and tear.
