This book is a collection of 44 letters and other related information about my great uncle, William H. (Will) Skinner Jr., who was wounded in the Battle of Gettysburg July 3rd 1863. v Will, the oldest son of William H. Skinner and Harriet C. Skinner, was born July 25, 1841. v On August 8th 1862 Will was mustered in as a private in company F 108th Infantry at Rochester, N.Y. for a service of three years. v Will was 21 years old, 5'9" tall, with light hair and complexion. v His occupation was listed as a farmer on land now owned by Piehler Pontiac on Lake Avenue across from Kodak Park (Hanford Landing Area). v Will played the violin, liked music and was a good baseball player.
