Das OnlineLexikon Wikipedia versteht unter Web 2.0 die "vernderte Nutzung und Wahrnehmung des Internets."2 Dessen Inhalte werden nicht mehr nur zentralisiert von groen Medienunternehmen zur Verfgung gestellt, sondern stammen zunehmend von den Nutzern selbst.3 Auch der Podcast wurde nicht von einer Firma vorgestellt, sondern ist ein Erfolgsmodell, das den Kpfen der InternetNutzer entsprungen ist. Der USAmerikaner und frhere Moderator bei dem Musiksender "MTV" Adam Curry gilt als Erfinder des Podcasts.4 100 Millionen Menschen als PodcastHrer zu gewinnen ist Currys ehrgeiziges Ziel.5 Eine 2007 von der ARD in Auftrag gegebene Studie zur PodcastNutzung ergab immerhin, dass alleine in Deutschland 40,8 Millionen Menschen ber die technischen Grundlagen verfgen, Podcasts zu nutzen.6 Dass es laut derselben Studie tatschlich nur 1,3 Millionen regelmige PodcastNutzer in Deutschland gibt, mag die obige Zahl zwar etwas relativieren.
