Trials conducted at the Usmanu Danfodiyu university, Sokoto, Nigeria investigated the response of millet and groundnut in mixtures to the effects of P&K fertilizers and to cropping pattern. The LER values were generally >l in all the mixtures, however the highest LER value was in 1:3 crop ratios, an indication of a higher biological efficiency of this mixture compared to other cropping patterns investigated. Thus, this level of millet / groundnut combination is recommended for farmers interested in intercropping. Application of 60kg P/ha and 20kg K/ha gave the best millet and groundnut yield response. Thus, recommendede for the experimental area. The finacial implication of such venture was also addressed. The gross income that accrued to millet was increased by 200.53 and 365.16 per cent in 2001 and 2002 cropping seasons, respectively. The highest gross income as a result of intercropping groundnut with millet was observed when millet and groundnut were intercropped at 1:3 ratios.
