Das englische Wort management" wird bersetzt als Fhrung, Leitung, Steuerung". In der Literatur wird daher auch von Erlssteuerung / Management gesprochen. Hufig wird anstatt der Bezeichnung Yield Management" der Begriff Revenue Management" verwendet. Das englische Begriff revenue" kann im Deutschen als Einkommen, Einknfte, Einnahmen" bezeichnet werden. Von der inhaltlichen Bedeutung besteht zwischen den Wrter Erls" und Ertrag" kein Unterschied, es handelt sich also um dasselbe Managementkonzept. Smtliche genannten Bezeichnungen tragen dem Umstand Rechnung, dass die im Revenue/ Yield Management eingesetzten Instrumente auf die Gestaltung der Erlsseite der Leistungserstellung ausgerichtet sind und zudem in den ursprnglichen Anwendungsgebieten wie der Flugindustrie unmittelbar auf die Maximierung des Gesamterlses abzielen.
