Words of reassurance and strategies for coping with the loss of a parent, by the director of the nations largest bereavement camp for children.Loss is one of the most isolating experiences there is, and kids who have lost a parent feel especially different than those around them. Comfort Zone Camp was founded as a safe place for grieving children, and now this very special healing experience can reach an even larger audience of children and the people who care for them. Through frank and accessible testimonials, Lynne Hughes and the kids of CZC share the most difficult parts of their losses and offer their own experiences of what helps, what doesnt, what stinks, and ways to stay connected to their loved ones. I had high hopes for 'You Are Not Alone' but was a bit disappointed. The stories felt very similar and didn’t capture my daughter’s attention. I think the idea is good, but it could use a little more variety or activities to engage teens better. Just okay in my opinion.

Mixed feelings about the content
I got this book for my son, who recently lost his mom. I think the stories are powerful but some were a bit too heavy for him. It’s good overall, but I wish there was more focus on coping strategies rather than just the experiences of others. It’s a decent book for teens dealing with grief.

Lacked depth for my taste
While I appreciate the effort behind 'You Are Not Alone', I found some stories lacked depth. My daughter read it but felt it skimmed the surface of some issues. It’s an okay book, but I was hoping for more comprehensive guidance on managing grief. Not for everyone.
