The author covers general eye anatomy and physiology, light and vision, the conjuctiva, the cornea, cataracts, glaucoma, the uveal tract, the retina, neuroophthalmology, strabismus, eye changes associated with general diseases and eye injuries. The book concludes with a glossary and a helpful section of answers to oftenasked questions. It will be of interest to eye patients, ophthalmology paraprofessionals and assistants and other interested individuals. Fear resulting from a real eye disease is realistic. It is easier to cope with these fears and with the problem itself if it is understood. Fortunately, in ophthalmology, the understanding of the difficulty can frequently lead to the solution of the problem. Continuing vision can be preserved, and frequently vision lost can be restored. Ongoing dynamic new advances are continuing in the battle against blindness. Understanding is a large part of the battle. That's what this book is all about.
