Und ich wollte diese Expedition in einem der ltesten Fortbewegungsmittel, dem Kanu, angehen. Am 31. Mai 1991 begann das Abenteuer. About the Author 1957 in Frankfurt/Main geboren, arbeitete Elisabeth Weigand nach dem Abschluss ihres Fremdsprachenstudiums fr sechs Jahre als Unternehmensberaterin in der Computerbranche. Whrend dieser Zeit nhrten zahlreiche Reisen in die Wildnis Kanadas ihre geheime Sehnsucht nach Freiheit und Abenteuer. Eine Expedition von ber zwei Monaten auf dem mchtigen Yukon River kennzeichnete den Beginn ihrer Reiseerzhlungen. Im folgenden Winter, den sie mit ihrem Mann in einer selbst gebauten Htte einsam und abgeschieden in den Bergen Kanadas verbrachte, fiel die Entscheidung: Sie beschloss, die Wildnis Kanadas zu ihrer Heimat zu machen. 1994 wanderten beide nach Kanada aus und grndeten AbenteuerReisen YUKON WILD. Seitdem fhrt Elisabeth Weigand neben ihrer schriftstellerischen Ttigkeit jhrlich Gste in die Wildnis und Natur des hohen Nordens. Sie lebt mit ihrem Mann, ihrem Pferd und ihrem Hund auf einem groen Landsitz inmitten der Natur.
