In vielen BearbeitungsflHlen ist man aus Wirtschaftlichkeitstiberlegungen von einerspanenden Formgebung auf einespanloseFormgebung tibergegangen. Das besagt aber keineswegs, daB die Bedeutung der spanenden Formgebung geringer geworden ist. Haufig hat sich eine Verlagerung des Schwerpunkts fUr die spanende Formgebung etwa in der Weise ergeben, daB der Anteil des Grobzerspanens (Schruppens) geringer geworden ist, weil viele Werkstticke spanlos schon sehr nahe an die endgtiltige Form gebracht werden. Jedoch hat sich der Anteil des Feinzerspanens (Schlichtens) entsprechend erhOht. In immer groBerem Umfang werden hochwertige Oberfla chen mit engenToleranzen benotigt, die spanlos nicht in der Qualitat herstellbar sind, daB sie den geforderten eanspruchungendurch Krafte oder Bewegungen gentigen. Dazu kommt noch, daB die Verarbeitungvieler hochfester Werkstoffe vorerst nurdurch Zerspanen wirtschaftlich moglich ist.
