Im ersten Teil wird der Artikel Die Struktur der Mythen' vorgestellt und erlutert werden. Darauf folgt eine umfassende Kritik an der Methode und den Ergebnissen von LviStrauss. Im zweiten Teil wird dann der Frage nachgegangen, was es mit den Begriffen Synchronie und Diachronie auf sich hat und wie Lvi Strauss diese Begriffe in seine Analyse einbezieht, bevor untersucht werden soll, wie Vernant auf diese Vorgaben reagiert und ob ihm eine strukturale Analyse der griechischen Mythen gelingt, obwohl LviStrauss eine solche ablehnt. Abschlieend soll dann die Frage geklrt werden, ob LviStrauss mit seinem Einwand, eine solche Analyse sei auf warme' Gesellschaften nicht anwendbar, Recht hatte, oder ob er von Vernant widerlegt worden ist. Gerade im ersten Teil wird besonders LviStrauss selbst zu Worte kommen, Quellen der Kritik' sind vor allem Oppitz und Detienne. Sehr intensiv mit der Forschung LviStrauss' setzte sich Edmund Leach auseinander, der, vor allem was die Schwierigkeit der Diachronie betrifft, wichtige Anhaltspunkte liefert. Im zweiten Teil wird hauptschlich mit Material von LviStrauss und JeanPierre Vernant gearbeitet werden. [...]
