Das Universittsseminar der Wirtschaft fhrt regelmig Informations tagungen durch, die unter dem Namen 'USWSymposium' einen festen Platz im Programm des USW haben. Aufgabe dieser Informationstagungen ist es, Wissenschaft und Wirtschaft zur Errterung und womglich auch zur Kl rung aktueller Fragen zusammenzufhren. Das 14. USWSymposium stand unter dem Titel 'Zukunftsprobleme unserer WirtschaftBeispiel PharmaIndustrie'. Es fhrte Vertreter der Pharma Industrie und Teilnehmer aus anderen Branchen zusammen mit dem Ziel, zu errtern, ob aktuelle Probleme der PharmaIndustrie ber den Bereich dieses Wirtschaftszweiges hinaus allgemeine Bedeutung fr die deutsche Wirtschaft haben. Die whrend der Tagung gehaltenen Vortrge werden hier in zum Teil ber arbeiteter und der aktuellen Entwicklung angepater Form vorgelegt. Die Ergebnisse der Diskussion sind schwerpunktartig am Ende dieses Bandes zusammengefat. Vortrge und Diskussionen machten deutlich, da bei aller Besonderheit der konkreten Erscheinungsformen hinter den Problemen und Lsungsvorschlgen Phnomene von allgemeiner Bedeutung sichtbar wer den, die die besondere Aufmerksamkeit aller Bereiche der Wirtschaft ver dienen. Hier ist vor allem die Rolle des Staates und die zunehmende Bedeu tung seiner dirigistischen Eingriffe in den Markt zu erwhnen. Aber auch Probleme der Sicherung unserer Wettbewerbsordnung und der Aufsicht ber den Wettbewerb, die heute mit besonderer Schrfe im Bereich des Pharma marktes diskutiert werden, haben eine eigene, weit ber diesen Bereich hinausragende Bedeutung.
