Eine Energiewende wird aus diesem Grund eine der zentralen Aufgaben des 21. Jahrhunderts sein, um den heutigen Lebensstandard auch fr zuknftige Generationen zu sichern. Daher gilt es die Potentiale der verschiedenen erneuerbaren Energien auszuschpfen und so zu nutzen, dass Mensch und Natur mglichst wenig beeintrchtigt werden. Die Photovoltaik bietet hervorragende Mglichkeiten kologisch und sozial konfliktfreie Energie bereit zu stellen. Durch stetige Effizienzsteigerung und Verbesserungen in der Wirtschaftlichkeit kann diese Technik deshalb einen wichtigen Teil zur knftigen Energieversorgung beitragen. Die zentrale Problemstellung ist in diesem Zusammenhang, dass die vorhandenen Dachflchen bisher kaum zur Energieerzeugung genutzt werden und das Potential der Photovoltaik somit nicht ausgeschpft wird. Um dieses Problem zu lsen, bedarf es neuer Herangehensweisen, denn "die Probleme, die es in der Welt gibt, knnen nicht mit den gleichen Denkweisen gelst werden, die sie geschaffen haben" (A. Einstein). Es ist eine neue Sichtweise ntig, die nicht mehr auf den zentralen Energieversorgungsstrukturen von fossilen Grokraftwerken beruht und diese als unvernderbare Gegebenheit ansieht, sondern eine, die dezentrale Versorgungsstrukturen frdert, Photovoltaik in den stdtischen Raum integriert, sowie die Gesellschaft in diesen Prozess einbindet und ihr die Mglichkeit gibt, an der Energieversorgung zu mitzuwirken. Das Ziel dieser Studie ist es aufzuzeigen, wie gro das Potential der photovoltaischen Nutzung von Dachflchen in der Stadt ist, wie dieses besser genutzt werden kann und welchen Beitrag die Technik fr eine zukunftsweisende Stadtplanung leisten kann, um dezentrale Versorgungsstrukturen umzusetzen.
