Er promovierte 1996 bei Friedrich Knilli ber die Geschichte der Gebrauchsanleitung am Beispiel der Instruktionen zum Telefonieren im Berliner Telefonbuch. Er arbeitet als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter, freier Journalist fr Radio, Print und TV, Dozent fr Medienpdagogik und Videoarbeit sowie als Industrieberater in Sachen Technikdokumentation.
