Im Mittelpunkt der vorliegenden Untersuchung steht eine Analyse zuwande rungspolitischer Ordnungskonzeptionen und Ordnungsvorstellungen in den Vereinigten Staaten, der Bundesrepublik Deutschland sowie der IV. und V. Franzsischen Republik. Der Untersuchungszeitraum erstreckt sich insgesamt von 1875 bis ins Jahr 1993. In dieser Zeitspanne werden verschiedene Phasen und Bereiche in den nationalen Zuwanderungspolitiken fokussiert. Dabei wird die Analyse in einen theoretischen Rahmen gestellt, der die Analysekategorien und die Perspektive der Fragestellungen bildet. Dieser Rahmen ergibt sich aus den theoretischen Implikationen der untersuchten zuwanderungspolitischen Ordnungskonzeptionen und vorstellungen selbst: Er wird von der Eigen FremdProblematik und dem modemen Nationenbegriff gebildet. Durch den modemen Nationalstaat und seine ihm impliziten Eigen und Fremdwahmehmungsmuster wird der Zuwanderer als Fremder und als Strfak tor der nationalen Ordnung empfunden. Es entsteht ein Verlangen nach Aus grenzung des Fremden, und das heit des Zuwanderers. Ein solches Verlangen lt sich bei nherer Betrachtung des modernen Nationenbegriffes zugleich als PrtJ.misse der Fremdausgrenzung formulieren. Unter dieser nationalen Aus grenzungsprmisse steht die Zuwanderungspolitik in den USA, in der Bun desrepublik Deutschland und in Frankreich. Dabei mu man im Rahmen der vorliegenden Beispiele zwischen drei Varianten unterscheiden, die durch den Vergleich zwischen den genannten Lndern erkennbar werden. Dieser Zu sammenhang ergibt den vollstndigen Untersuchungsgegenstand der vorliegen den Studie. Eine solche Studie liegt im deutschsprachigen Raum bisher nicht vor.
