Product DescriptionDer Kreuzzugsaufruf durch Papst Urban II. whrend des Konzils von Clermont im November 1095 hatte fr die jdische Bevlkerung in Frankreich und Deutschland weit reichende Folgen. Neben dem offiziellen" Ritterherr, das sich unter der militrischen Fhrung des Grafen Raimund IV. von Toulouse auf den Weg machte, zogen viele Gruppen durch die Lande, von kleinen Adeligen oder von Geistlichen, wie Peter dem Einsiedler, angefhrt und aufgewiegelt. Es waren diese marodierenden Haufen, die fr die grausamen Pogrome in den jdischen Gemeinden im Rheintal verantwortlich waren. Dieser Aufsatz beschreibt die Ereignisse und analysiert ausfhrlich die politischen, sozialen und eschatologischen Hintergrnde. Im 19. Jahrhundert vollzog sich in vielen jdischen Familien ein bedeutsamer Wandel. Von der nur" jdischen Familie wandelte sie sich in eine deutschjdische, meist brgerlich orientierte Familie. Der Beitrag beschreibt ausfhrlich, welche Vernderungen auf die einzelnen Familienmitglieder zukamen, aber auch wie man versuchte, trotz vieler Neuerungen, die berlieferten jdischen Traditionen zu wahren oder sie den Gegebenheiten anzupassen.
