Dezember 1835, durch den die Werke der fnf Schriftsteller Heinrich Heine, Theodor Mundt, Karl Gutzkow, Ludolf Wienbarg und Heinrich Laube verboten wurden. Das Verbot markierte Hhe und gleichzeitig Schlusspunkt einer literarischen Bewegung, die erst wenige Jahre davor begonnen hatte. Die Wege der Autoren trennten sich. Und doch gab es auch danach immer wieder Begegnungen und Berhrungspunkte. Petra Hartmann zeichnet die Wege der Verbotenen und ihrer Verbndeten nach und arbeitet Schnittstellen in den Werken der alt gewordenen Jungdeutschen heraus. Sie schildert insbesondere die Erfahrungen der Autoren auf der Insel Helgoland, ihre Rolle in der Revolution von 1848, aber auch die Versuche der ehemaligen ProsaSchriftsteller, sich als Dramatiker zu etablieren. Irgendwo zwischen Anpassung und fortwhrender Rebellion mussten die Autoren ihr neues Auskommen suchen, endeten als gescheiterte Existenzen im Irrenhaus oder als etablierte Literaten, die doch krperlich und seelisch den Schock von 1835 nie ganz verwunden hatten, sie leiteten angesehene Theater oder passten sich an und gerieten nach Jahren unter strenger Sonderzensur beim Publikum in Vergessenheit. Die vorliegende Untersuchung zeigt, was aus den Idealen von 1835 wurde, aber auch, wie vollkommen neue Ideen etwa die Debatte um Armut und Bildung in den Werken der Jungdeutschen auftauchten und wie die Autoren bis zum Ende versuchten, ihr Markenzeichen ihren Stil zu bewahren.About the AuthorPetra Hartmann, Jahrgang 1970, lebt in Sillium bei Hannover. Auerdem hat sich die Literaturwissenschaftlerin und Journalistin als Sammlerin und Herausgeberin moderner Mrchen einen Namen gemacht.
