Sie htte daher nicht entstehen knnen ohne die Hilfe der Leiter und Mitarbeiter der Stadtarchive von Essen, Gladbeck, Bochum, Reck linghausen und Duisburg, des Westflischen Staatsarchivs Mnster, des Histo rischen Archivs der Fried. Einleitung Wer an das Ruhrgebiet denkt, darber redet oder gar schreibt, konzentriert sich meist auf die industrielle Prgung der Region und die sozialen, wirtschaftlichen oder kologischen Folgen dieser Prgung. Und wer sich ausnahmsweise fr die Kultur des Industriegebietes interessiert, gert leicht in den Verdacht, er sei den PRKampagnen der Ruhrgebietsstdte aufgesessen, die sich immer wieder bemhen, neue, positiv besetzte Klischees an die Stelle der alten RevierBilder zu setzen, und die deshalb lieber ber Theater, Museen und Grnflchen reden als ber die Reste der altindustriellen Infrastruktur.
